Let's be honest. You know as well as me that humans are always doing things for money. Just in time, too, because artificially selecting us sure does give them lots of money!
Artificially selecting us is very economically advantageous for humans. By developing the best of us, they have increased the potency of human-desired traits in different breeds of corn. for example, many of us now have higher oil concentration, which would lead to the increased production of oil. By harvesting more material from each one of us, humans can increase the value of their own economy.
But, hey, all that is good has its bad side as well, right? Artificial selection is usually very expensive and highly competitive, so only wealthy farmers and breeders can afford it. So, it's true, you can still find some of my ugly cousins out there.
